New Female Character to Come to Hyrule Warriors Legends

Nintendo held their Nintendo Direct event today, announcing and revealing many new games and updates directly to players and fans. Hyrule Warriors Legends, a 3DS version of the game Hyrule Warriors for the Wii U, received a number of special announcements, including a release date and a brand new female character based off of Link, named Linkle.

Hyrule Warriors Legends follows the same structure as the previous Hyrule Warriors, placing iconic characters from The Legend of Zelda series onto a battlefield full of enemies and featuring gameplay from the Dynasty series. Tetra, the King of Hyrule, Wind Waker Link, and Skull Kid have all been announced to join the cast of playable characters within the game, but Linkle is the first brand new character to be announced for the game.

Linkle is a female protagonist touted as a “double-wielding crossbow hunter”. Her special attack is a spin kick similar to Link’s spin attack. Linkle premiered along with in-game fighting footage showing off her ranged attacks and spin kick.

Hyrule Warriors Legends is set to release on March 25th, 2016 for the 3DS. Upon purchase, a limited-edition Hyrule Warriors Legends-themed home screen will be available for a limited time.
