New Frontline Mode and Ships in Fractured Space

Edge Case Games has launched a new update via Steam Early Access for the space oriented MOBA, Fractured Space. The new update focuses more on speed and concentrated aggressive attacks as it brings the new Frontline mode to a single lane, rather than the multi-lane tactical fleet players have been accustomed to.

In Frontline mode, players are assigned to random ships with a Frontline loadout. Players won’t be restricted by what ships they have or haven’t unlocked, as the full roster will be available.

There’s also an added Sudden Death feature which will begin after the game’s twelve-minute timer has elapsed. During Sudden Death, there can be neither respawns nor repairs from home bases, and destroying the opposing team in Sudden Death will end the game.

The new mode is not the only inclusion in the update; Two new ships have been added, as well as several new ship skins.

The new ships in question are the Displacer and the Overseer.

The Displacer does just that: Displaces. It’s a tactical support ship meant to manipulate enemy positions via long-range suppression. It comes equipped with a Linear Cannon as its main weapon, which is used to push enemies into the line of fire.

The Overseer is a long-range attack ship equipped with a Flux Cannon meant to inflict colossal damage from a safe distance. This leaves the ship vulnerable to close-quarter attacks, but it also has a Reverse Boost ability to get it out of trouble quickly.

A full list of changes and additions can be found on the Fractured Space’s official website

Fractured Space is currently available on Steam Early Access, with plans for a wider free-to-play release in 2016
