New Star Wars Battlefront 2 Trailer Showcases Single-Player Campaign

This week has been a rocky one for Star Wars fans. While there was some cool news with Ron Howard’s inclusion of Tag and Bink in the newly titled Solo: A Star Wars Story, the closing of Visceral by EA and shifting of the single-player Star Wars game they were working on was a pretty big downer. Continuing on the Star Wars roller coaster ride of the week however comes a new trailer from EA and DICE showing off the single-player campaign in Battlefront 2.

The story for Battlefront 2 takes place between Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens. It focuses on an Imperial Commander, Iden Versio, and her role with the Empire after the Emperor has been slain and the Empire is collapsing. The trailer focuses on her interactions with what remains of the Empire as they work to strike at the Rebels for what they’ve done. It definitely shows how EA and DICE are working to bridge the worlds of the classic trilogy and the new one. In the trailer you see Luke and Leia, as well as Kylo Ren and Maz Kanata, but also some interesting locations such as Naboo. It will be interesting to see what they do to bridge the worlds and stories, but it is exciting as this will be considered canon, so it will be great to dive into for any Star Wars fan.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 launches on November 17, and brings with it a host of playing options. The single-player campaign looks to quell some of the criticism from the launch of the first game, but it is of course followed by plenty of multiplayer options. There are even some split-screen options for local multiplayer if you’re looking for some couch co-op action. Are you looking forward to Battlefront 2? Will you play the campaign right away, or just dive into the multiplayer? Let us know in the comments below!
