Mirror’s Edge 2 Coming Says EA

President Frank Gibeau of Electronic Arts in an Interview with gamer website IGN said that the Publisher is still in talks with DICE, the developers of Mirror’s Edge. They want to assure audiences that they are trying to resurrect Faith and her building hopping exploits in a sequel but are not sure yet where to take the next game. He stated, “We’re looking at ideas for it, absolutely,” he explained when IGN brought up the prospect of a sequel. “We just haven’t figured out the right way to bring it back yet. It was a franchise that reached an audience, but it didn’t reach a large audience, and from a quality standpoint it was good, not great.” To add to his point, Mirror’s Edge was very popular amongst a select group of players, I myself enjoyed it immensely, but it fell much short of EA’s hopes in sales expectations.

“Working with DICE, we’re really trying to figure out a way of bringing Faith and the Mirror’s Edge property back, but we just really haven’t crafted the idea yet. We’re looking at it,” added Frank.

So, time will tell if we see another Mirror’s Edge. I know personally I’m looking forward to it as the game in my eyes was truly different and ground-breaking than anything I had every seen before. It also looks like from Frank Gibeau comments that they’re doing some soul searching on the matter over at EA and they’re deciding whether a title that didn’t  exactly meet their sales expectations should still have a chance to shine again. I say yes, and I imagine millions of fans do as well, and for all attentive purposes so does he. Let’s see what happens and keep our fingers crossed.
