We are sure you all understand by now how exciting a new Nintendo Direct is. With Nintendo promising to deliver more news about both Wii U and 3DS games that have already been announced many gamers were excited to finally hear release dates and learn more about games that are sure to feature pretty high on their Christmas lists.
Although there was no Pokemon X/Y news and the rumor that Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze being delayed inevitably being found to be true, it was a pretty exciting event that saw new accessories being announced, release dates being set in stone and even a new game being revealed!
So as always, in handy bullet-point form, here is all the news from the European edition of Nintendo Direct:
- Super Mario 3D World features a brand new fairy character in addition to power ups that clone Mario and friends. Power ups from previous games (such as Mario 3D Land) are also present. The game is out November 29th
- Limited Edition Wii Remote Plus packs will be available from November 8th. Two were announced; a red ‘Mario’ pack and a green ‘Luigi’ pack. This is the first time a Wii remote has been made available in green!
- Wii Party U will launch on October 25th in Europe and can be purchased in either a white or black Wii Remote Plus bundle. Each bundle also includes a Horizontal Stand for the Wii U GamePad
- Nintendo confirms that Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze has been delayed until sometime in 2014
- Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 is out on November 8th and features online multiplayer matchmaking
- Sonic the Hedgehog is confirmed to be making a return in Super Smash Brothers for Wii U and 3DS
- Mission Mode DLC will be made available for Pikmin 3 later today for £1.79, free trial of one mission for those who already own it in addition to a software update to improve global ranking system
- Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will be released on November 22nd and features many new characters (Ravio, the shop keeper, being one) and allows you to pick the order in which you tackle Dungeons. You can rent items to use at any time permitting you have the rupees available so no longer will you get one new item per dungeon
- Kirby will be coming to Nintendo 3DS in 2014
- Wii Karaoke U will be available to download for free from October 4th and will feature 1500 songs at launch. You can not ‘own’ the title and instead are required to purchase 1 hour, 24 hour or 30 day ‘tickets’ to play the game. When it is released, you will get a free hour trial
- Sonic Lost World for Wii U and 3DS will be released on October 18th
- Scribblenauts Unlimited finally being released in Europe (after huge delay) on December 6th for both Wii U and 3DS
- Capcom bringing Pheonix Wright Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS eShop on October 24th. A playable demo for the game will be available later today
- Bravely Default will launch in Europe for Nintendo 3DS on December 6th. Preorder at participating retailers to get a limited edition art book. In addition to this a limited edition version of the game was announced although the contents was not detailed.
