NHL 15 Cover Athlete Revealed at NHL Awards Show

<p>Forgive me if I gloat here but I&&num;8217&semi;m a little biased about the selection of NHL 15&&num;8217&semi;s cover athlete&period; Being born and raised in Boston&comma; the Black and Gold is embedded into our DNA at an early age&period; So it came as no surprise that Bruins Nation voted over 10 million times to select Patrice Bergeron as the cover athlete for the next installment of the EA hockey franchise&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Bergeron and Montreal Canadiens defenseman P&period;K&period; Subban were the two finalist&comma; which was fitting due to the heated rivalry between the two organizations&period; Bergeron&comma; a French Canadien himself&comma; had this to say about his selection&colon; &&num;8220&semi;I never thought of that when I grew up&period; To be on the cover&comma; it&&num;8217&semi;s very special&period; It&&num;8217&semi;s a game that I used to play a lot as a kid and so many great players have been on the cover of that game in the past and now to be part of that list is very humbling&comma; so it&&num;8217&semi;s pretty special&period; I want to thank all the fans obviously for voting&period; I’m really grateful for the support that I have received over the course of that campaign and it means a lot to me&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>At the NHL Awards ceremony in Las Vegas&comma; Bergeron was announced the cover athlete but he wasn&&num;8217&semi;t done there as he took him the Selke award for the second time in his career&period; This award is given to the Best Defensive Forward&period; And he also won the NHL Foundation Player Award&comma; which is awarded to an NHL player &&num;8220&semi;who applies the core values of hockey &&num;8212&semi; commitment&comma; perseverance and teamwork &&num;8212&semi; to enrich the lives of people in his community&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Patrice Bergeron and his teammates didn&&num;8217&semi;t win the Cup this year&comma; and at the end of the day that&&num;8217&semi;s what it&&num;8217&semi;s all about&comma; but yesterday was a good day to be a Boston Bruins fan&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>NHL 15 arrives in stores on September 9 in North America and September 12 for Europe&period; NHL 15 will be the first hockey game to arrive on next-gen&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;bruins&period;nhl&period;com&sol;club&sol;blogpost&period;htm&quest;id&equals;30147&amp&semi;navid&equals;DL&vert;BOS&vert;home" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">Bruins&period;com<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
