According to the latest issue of Famitsu (as translated trough NeoGAF) the Nintendo 3DS has now soared past ten million units in Japan.
Specific details of the amount of units sold since its launch as of 6th January 2013 are reported to be 10,068,192 which are even higher than the lifetime sales of the PlayStation 3 console in the country.
Further reading indicates that as of 3rd December 2012 only 8,799,378 has been sold so within just thirty-three days the console has shifted 1,268,814 units.
With titles such as Monster Hunter 4 and the (just yesterday in fact) recently confirmed Pokemon X and Pokemon Y versions being released later this year we can only assume that this number will increase rapidly over 2013.
