Nintendo must be pleased with itself. The 3DS XL was released in Japan on July 28 and has reportedly sold about 193,000 units, within the first two days of its launch.

Comparatively this is good for the big N. The DSi, launched in 2008, sold 170,000 units within its first two days whilst the DSi XL, released in 2009, sold 100,000 in the same length of time.

The 3DS XL was launched alongside New Super Mario Bros. 2 and apparently, the game itself has sold about 430,000 copies.

All of this news comes after Nintendo reported that the 3DS has sold over 19 million units across the globe.
