New Nintendo AR cards are going to be released soon in Japan after Satoru Iwata announced them during a Chotto Direct.

These cards range in price from 1000 Yen to 3000 Yen and the range currently includes Goomba, Koopa, Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser.

New software will be released through the Nintendo 3SHOP which allows these cards to work in pretty much the same way as the current AR cards which you spent a whole ten minutes (if you were lucky) playing with when you first opened your Nintendo 3DS console.

Whilst Goomba, Mario and Peach will be available from the 23rd April, no release date for given for Koopa, Luigi and Bowser as well as any dates given for any of the cards outside of Japan.

Would this tickle your fancy?
