Nintendo is Holding an E3 Developer Discussion for a Major New 3DS Game

Nintendo will be announcing a very important 3DS game at this year’s E3. The news came as the company released more details about their plans for the upcoming conference. As with previous E3 events, Nintendo will be hosting a series of round table discussions to compliment their main presentation. Last year Nintendo dedicated a  developer discussion to Pokémon X & Y and the year before they dedicated one to the Wii U launch titles.

This year there will be two 90 minute long developer discussions. The first one will start at 10:00 pm ET on June 10 and be dedicated to the upcoming Super Smash Bros. games. It  will be hosted by game director Masahiro Sakurai and will reveal lots more details about both the 3DS and the Wii U version. Intriguingly, Nintendo has said that the second developer discussion, to begin at 9:00 pm ET on June 11, will be for an as of yet unannounced 3DS game.

After having an amazing line up last year, the 3DS has had a pretty weak 2014 so far. With Super Smash Bros. hitting the platform in August, the 3DS’ holiday line up currently looks very slim with the Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire remakes being the only major titles announced.  The fact that Nintendo is dedicating 90 minutes to this 3DS game shows that it will be an incredibly important title. Hopefully it will be launching later this year.
