<p>We were all surprised when Nintendo announced that the Wii U, their latest home console, would actually be sold at a loss. It’s a well known fact, after all, that Nintendo hardware has never been sold at a loss&#8230; but is the Wii U really losing that much money?</p>
<p>Reggie Films-Aime has revealed that it takes one piece of software to make the console profitable when talking to Mercury News.</p>
<p>Considering that (what, nobody?) buys a console without a game to go with it then you can start to see why the company is able to sell the console at a loss all of a sudden.</p>
<p>Good business or an opportunity missed to sell the console at an even smaller price to consumers?</p>
