A few gamers found themselves to be disappointed when they discovered that Nintendo Land, included in the Wii U Premium Pack, did not feature online-play and was local-multiplayer only.

Since it’s launch however, gamers have gathered in living rooms and fought on sofas whilst enjoying the multiplayer modes which Mario Chase (for example) offers. Speaking with Famitsu, Katsuya Eguchi (Nintendo Land’s Producer) explained why the game was never going to feature online capabilities:

“Nintendo Land’s multiplayer attractions work because of the communication shared between the people playing them, They were set up from the start to be something people in the same room could enjoy.”

Do you agree with Katsuya? On the other hand you do get Mii’s appearing and sharing notes from Miiverse. Is this enough to compare with today’s online-standard of video games?
