Nintendo has explained how both the Falco and Fox amiibo can be used in the upcoming shooter, Star Fox Zero.
The Falco amiibo unlocks the Black Arwing, which is said to have “more powerful weapons but weaker defences.” It’s supposed to be for gamers hungry to challenge their fly-and-shoot capabilities. Another amiibo feature, this one confirmed by Shigeru Miyamoto, is the ability to tap the Fox amiibo to the Wii U GamePad to unlock a retro arwing based on the SNES Star Fox game.
When we last reported on amiibo support in Star Fox Zero, we said that Nintendo had to scrap plans to create a transforming Arwing amiibo.
Although it would have been fun to own an amiibo with these features, at least we know we will be getting a challenging Star Fox game in just a few short weeks on April 22nd.
