Nintendo Updates Wii U System Software: “First Of Several”

It has been a tough time for Wii U owners ever since the console first launched back in late 2012. Among the excitement for a brand new Nintendo home-console were the skeptic group of gamers who didn’t believe the console was ready due to it launching without a full Virtual Console store in the eShop, slow loading times across the console and its many features and the long, long delay of Nintendo TVii.

Today, Nintendo begins its mission to resolve all of these issues and more.

A new version of the system software for Wii U has been released and it is the first of “several planned for the coming months”. Although this firmware only adds “system stability improvements and other adjustments to enhance the user’s experience” it does not address the lengthy loading times experiences when going from one application to another and also does not address the absence of Nintendo TVii in European countries.

The next update is due in April and according to Eurogamer the one after that is due in the autumn. Will these features be added for EU gamers before the end of the year?
