Nintendo World Store Getting a Makeover

The Nintendo World Store located in the Rockefeller Plaza will be temporary closing on January 19th.

The store will reopen February 19-21st and will be officially renamed Nintendo NY. In conjunction with this reopening, Nintendo will be hosting giveaways to celebrate, plus appearances from Mario and Luigi will pump up customers during the reopening. The massive, two story store originally opened in 2005, but there will be lots of changes to create the “new look and feel” for 2016 and beyond. Nintendo says:

“The powered-up overhaul will include an updated interior design, new Wii U and Nintendo 3DS demo units, a 15-foot gaming screen and more fun elements and surprises. In addition, a large bronze coin installed at the store entrance will display the store’s tagline: “Where everyone comes to play.”

Nintendo NY will sell games, consoles, and lots of exclusive merchandise like t-shirts and hats that can not be purchased anywhere else. The store will also have lots of demos available to be played. If you are planning on visiting Nintendo NY after it opens, leave a comment letting us know what you’re looking forward to buying the most!
