Nintendo’s President Address Regarding Future Plans

A letter from Nintendo’s President Tatsumi Kimishima that addresses the company’s shareholders and investors was posted on the Nintendo website this Christmas.

This statement makes the company’s mission clear: to bring Nintendo IPs to as many people as possible by extending their reach beyond video games. Nintendo wishes for their games to be played by everyone. Kimishima-san states:

“With the belief in our mission to put smiles on people’s faces around the world through products and services, we have followed our basic strategy of expanding the gaming population by offering products that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age, gender or gaming experience. We now want to take this mission a step further by increasing the number of people who have access to Nintendo’s intellectual property (Nintendo IP).”

To help the lovable Nintendo characters come to life outside of their games, the company is planning on making theme park attractions according to the President’s Address. The new system hinted at earlier, “My Nintendo”, will link official Nintendo platforms with outside devices (most likely cell phones and PCs) in order to have their IP reach as many people as possible.
