Yesterday, Nyko Technologies announced the Power Pak for the DualShock 4 controller for the PlayStation 4.
The Power Pak is a snap-on rechargeable battery pack which will double the standard battery life of the DualShock 4 controller. The batter pack is a 1000mAh Lithium Ion battery and it connects through the controller’s Micro USB port, so it can constantly be recharging the controller while you play.
“Our goal was to create a device that not only increases the DualShock 4’s battery life, but also matches the controller in comfort and appearance,” said Chris Arbogast, director of marketing at Nyko Technologies. “It’s lightweight and does not impede gameplay or ergonomics, enabling users to extend their gaming sessions.”
Other features of the Nyko Power Pak include a dedicated power switch, which allows users to control when to turn on the Power Pak, the ability to recharge both the controller and Power Pak through a standard Micro USB cable, and compatibility with Nyko’s Charge Base for the PS4.
The Nyko Power Pak is out today and retails for $19.99.
