Oculus Rift Will Start Pre-Orders on January 6

Oculus Rift

Pre-orders are going to open for the highly-anticipated Oculus Rift starting January 6th, 2016. The announcement comes way of Oculus’s official website, who have announced that pre-orders will open then. The statement also announces that those who pre-order the Oculus Rift will also receive a free copy of EVE: Valkyrie, CCP’s shooter based in the EVE: Online universe. This pre-order incentive comes along with the recently announced pack-in game, Lucky’s Tale.

Details that are still missing, which most people are dying to know, is what the price of the unit will be and when it will actually ship. The Oculus Rift looks to be the first major player in the virtual-reality arms race to make its way into homes, but it will also be one of the early signs of whether VR will succeed in the marketplace. More news regarding the Rift will likely be announced either at 8 AM PST, when pre-orders go live, or at 6 PM PST, when Palmer Lucky conducts a Reddit AMA about the device.
