Oddworld: Soulstorm Announced for 2017

<p>The last proper <em>Oddworld<&sol;em>-related release was <em>Oddworld&colon; Stranger&&num;8217&semi;s Wrath <&sol;em>back in 2005&period; Since then&comma; it has been released on virtually every platform under the sun&period; Since 2014&comma; <em>Oddworld&colon; New &&num;8216&semi;n&&num;8217&semi; Tasty&excl; <&sol;em>was put on multiple platforms&comma; acting as a completely redone version of <em>Oddworld&colon; Abe&&num;8217&semi;s Odyssey&period; <&sol;em>The team at Oddworld Inhabitants is now looking to release <em>Oddworld&colon; Soulstorm <&sol;em>to the masses in the latter half of 2017&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The game picks up where <em>New &&num;8216&semi;n&&num;8217&semi; Trasty <&sol;em>left off&comma; but from a different perspective than <em>Abe&&num;8217&semi;s Exoddus<&sol;em> &&num;8211&semi; the sequel to <em>Abe&&num;8217&semi;s Odyssey<&sol;em>&period; A lot of the plot description sounds pretty similar to the story of <em>Abe&&num;8217&semi;s Exoddus<&sol;em> but there also isn&&num;8217&semi;t much known about <em>Soulstorm <&sol;em>other than that it will tell a &&num;8220&semi;<em>deeper&comma; darker&comma; and more sinister story<&sol;em>&&num;8220&semi;&comma; according to series creator Lorne Lanning&period; Soulstorm Brewery was a large component of <em>Abe&&num;8217&semi;s Exoddus <&sol;em>and the hints towards their inclusion in the new <em>Oddworld <&sol;em>title was started prior to today&&num;8217&semi;s announcement with a seemingly normal tweet on March 10th&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>https&colon;&sol;&sol;twitter&period;com&sol;OddworldInc&sol;status&sol;707918456075718656<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The game will be co-developed by internal teams of Oddworld Inhabitants&comma; as well as Frima Studio in Canada&period; If this truly is just a remake of <em>Abe&&num;8217&semi;s Exoddus <&sol;em>but from a different perspective&comma; than it was actually <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;oddworld&period;com&sol;2015&sol;04&sol;a-storm-is-brewing-abes-exoddus-remake-planned&sol;">confirmed back in 2015<&sol;a> when Oddworld Inhabitants announced they were remaking the original game from the ground up&period; It seems likely this is the case&comma; but nothing has been explicitly said whether or not it is the same project&period; Perhaps two <em>Oddworld <&sol;em>titles are being developed simultaneously&quest;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Currently&comma; fans who want to see more of what Abe will look like in the game can <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;twitter&period;com&sol;oddworldinc&sol;">follow Oddworld on Twitter<&sol;a>&period; If they reach enough followers&comma; they will release images of Abe&&num;8217&semi;s hands&comma; chest and face&comma; with his hands almost ready to be revealed&period; One other piece of news regarding the game came out which was that Jim Sterling&comma; who previously lent his voice to <em>Volume<&sol;em>&comma; will have a &&num;8220&semi;vocal role&&num;8221&semi; in <em>Oddworld&colon; Soulstorm<&sol;em>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>https&colon;&sol;&sol;twitter&period;com&sol;JimSterling&sol;status&sol;709467930963124225<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>I for one loved my time with <em>Oddworld&colon; New &&num;8216&semi;n&&num;8217&semi; Tasty<&sol;em>&comma; and am very much excited to see what <em>Soulstorm <&sol;em>ends up being&period; Do you think it will be a retelling of <em>Abe&&num;8217&semi;s Exoddus<&sol;em>&quest; Let us know which <em>Oddworld <&sol;em>game you&&num;8217&semi;d like to see remade&comma; or if you&&num;8217&semi;re tired of the remakes&comma; down in the comments below&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;oddworld&period;com&sol;soulstorm&sol;">Oddworld Official Site<&sol;a><&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
