Word on Just Add Water’s PlayStation Vita version of Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath began a few weeks ago. That has not stopped the developer from having a launch window in mind. In an interview on this week’s Official PlayStation Blogcast, Just Add Water CEO Stewart Gilray said the handheld version of the shooter was coming together nicely.

“We started work on [the Vita version of Stranger’s Wrath] about five and a half weeks ago. The guy who’s doing it had actually never touched a Vita before — he just plugged it in and read the documentation. He probably spent half a week reading the documentation and then the next week he already had the code running. He was surprised how quickly he managed to get things going.”

Gilray stated that they expect the game to be in the beta phase around E3 and are hoping for a late June release date.

Just Add Water also stated that the Move and stereoscopic 3D pack for the PS3 version of Stranger’s Wrath has been submitted to Sony. That version is expected to release in late May. The high-definition Xbox title Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee is four weeks from reaching QA.
