It’s happening, a Castlevania: Lords of Shadow spin-off or sequel is heading to the 3DS, according to the cover of the latest Nintendo Power, as uncovered by the eagle eyes over at NeoGAF. At this point, not too many details are known about whether Mirror of Fate will continue the storyline of LOS or be all new but NeoGAF has some other fantastically awesome tidbits revealed:
– Deep combat mechanics
– Involves Trevor Belmont
– Fight with Trevor’s version of the Combat Cross
– Strong attacks with X
– Wider-reaching attacks with Y
– Secondary weapons like the boomerang-like glaive and electric bomb
– Use these with A
– Grab enemies with R
– Block and dodge with L
– Involves light and shadow magic returns
– Earn experience points to unlock new combos
– These include launching foes into the air, smashing enemies down to the ground and more
– Includes skeletons, axe-wielding undead and more
What makes this especially exciting for me is the inclusion of Trevor Belmont and some of the classic enemies we know and love from the series. Bring on the Vampire Killer!
