3DS owners may remember a little known title called New Super Mario Bros. 2 which was a fantastic addition to the 3D-capable handheld at a time where things were less rosey for Nintendo as they tried to promote their latest creation.

The last total we heard from Nintendo was that the game had generated 300 billion coins from players playing the game although since then Nintendo has confirmed that over one trillion coins have been collected through both story mode and Coin Rush modes.

Coin Rush received many DLC packs, including a free DLC Coin Rush pack when the game reached 300 billion coins which has obviously contributed to gamers collecting such a huge total of coins. Would you like to see more DLC for New Super Mario Bros. 2?
