<p>Moon Studios has announced that <em>Ori and the Blind Forest</em> will be getting a <em>Definitive Edition</em> on the 11<sup>th</sup> of this month for Xbox One, Windows 10 PC, and Steam.</p>

<p>There’s also a new playable area, called Black Root Burrows, which will give players a further look into the lore of the game: “<em>There is a great story sequence throughout Black Root Burrows where you’re discovering the past of Naru, the mother character</em>,” explains Executive Producer Mark Coates, “<em>You discover her roots, where she came from, and you learn a bit more about her as a character and why maybe she is compelled to do some of the things that she does later on in the game. It’s all interwoven with the already-existing story</em>.”</p>

For instance, there’s a new dash ability which can be leveled up so it can do damage and eventually even be performed while mid-air.</p>
<p>The new environment, while as gorgeous as we’ve come to expect, is still dangerous. As the player braves the new area and discovers more about the world, they will gain the Light Burst ability, which has been described as a sort of ‘light grenade’. The Light Burst will be useful not only against enemies, but also in solving puzzles as well.</p>

<p>Another addition to the <em>Definitive Edition</em> is a new “easy” mode for players who want to have an easier time with challenges and platforming in order to focus more on the narrative. On the other side, the “hard” mode will, of course, offer more of a challenge, and if players are especially brave and confident they might try the “one-life” mode.</p>
