Overwatch Gets Release Date and Open Beta Announcement

Blizzard has announced the release date for their new game Overwatch, as well as revealed the dates for an Open Beta test.

The game will launch on May 24th, and the free all-access Open Beta will take place for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC starting May 5th through the 9th. However, players who pre-purchase the game will have early access to the Beta for an extra two days on the 3rd and 4th of the same month.

Overwatch can be purchased from Battle.net, and purchasers will be sent two early access keys before the Open Beta begins; the game can also be purchased from select retailers, as well as from the PlayStation and Xbox Stores. In addition to the extra two days of Beta, those who pre-purchase will also receive the Noire Widowmaker skin at launch.

In Overwatch, a once-essential taskforce of scientists, soldiers, and adventurers have been disbanded, but a war-torn world is still in need of such diverse array of heroes.

Once again, Overwatch is releasing for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 24th, and the all-access free Open Beta will go live on May 5th and last through the 9th, with pre-purchasers getting an extra two days of access.
