Milan Records and Sony Music Masterworks announced the March 5 release of Pacific Rim: The Black Original Soundtrack (Music from the Netflix Original Anime Series) by composer Brandon Campbell. Available for pre-order now, the album features score music written by Campbell for Netflix’s newest anime series based on Legendary Television and Guillermo del Toro’s blockbuster film franchise Pacific Rim. Making its debut alongside the album pre-order is the lead single “The Black,” featured as the main title theme in the show’s official trailer.

Brandon Campbell commented on the soundtrack’s release saying:
“Our showrunner, Greg Johnson, wanted a score that encompassed bits of DNA from the original Pacific Rim film while still being unique enough to support the struggles and triumphs of Taylor and Hailey. We created a hybrid orchestral score with the heavy themes and melodic material that will hopefully resonate with Pacific Rim fans, while including more intimate and emotional musical moments that accompany our characters as they make their way across The Black. I hope my music brings you back into the world of the awesome power of the Kaiju and Jaeger, but also into the hearts of Taylor and Hailey.”
The album marks the first release under a new, agreement between Milan Records/Sony Music Masterworks and Legendary Television to collaborate on future soundtrack releases.

Pacific Rim: The Black Synopsis:
There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.
About Brandon Campbell
Brandon Campbell is a composer for film, television, and video games. Most recently Brandon scored Netflix’s new animated series Pacific Rim: The Black. Other projects of his include Sony Pictures’ Slenderman, Apple TV+’s Amazing Stories, Legendary’s The Thinning, and Netflix’s The Letter for the King. Brandon began his career working alongside Emmy-winning composer Ramin Djawadi. Over the years he contributed music to numerous high profile projects including, Person of Interest, Game of Thrones, Westworld, A Wrinkle in Time, and the Gears of War franchise. Brandon currently resides in West Los Angeles with his daughter Cora June, wife Michelle, and two rescue dogs, Knox and Belle.
