Patrick Warburton Talks About The Return Of The Tick

<p>The comical comic book superhero <em><strong>The Tick<&sol;strong><&sol;em> has seen both a cartoon series from 1994 and a live-action version from 2001&period; Despite the live-action show being a hoot and receiving a positive fan response&comma; the series was lost in Fox&&num;8217&semi;s shuffle to find new programming&period; But now <em><strong>The Tick<&sol;strong><&sol;em> will be returning with new episodes on Amazon and with quite a few familiar names&period; Specifically&comma; <strong>Patrick Warburton<&sol;strong> will be reprising his role as the blue-suited&comma; absent-minded title hero&period; The original character creator <strong>Ben Edmund<&sol;strong> will be involved with the series as well&period; Who else will be on staff&quest; Warburton didn&&num;8217&semi;t spill much of any info in his interview with MovieWeb&comma; but he did talk about his fondness for the character and potential changes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>I love The Tick&period; I’d love to do it again&period; I never would have thought I’d have the opportunity to do this again&period; I think it would be a blast to do it again&period; We’ll see what happens&period; One thing about The Tick&comma; he is an insane character&period; I guess he doesn’t have to be 29 years-old like Thor&comma; I guess&period; He’ll be 50 battling evil&period; I’d love to see whatBen Edlund’s new vision for it is&period; I think it will be different&period; Perhaps a little darker and a little edgier&period; We’ll see what happens&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>There were probably five different Tick costumes for the original series&period; I would assume there would be a new design&period; Let’s say hypothetically that The Tick&comma; we’re going to attack it again&period; It would be all-new&period; It would be a new conception&period; There are so many advantages to the creatives today&comma; that there weren’t 12 years ago&period; As far as doing things&comma; and creating a whole new world forThe Tick&period; It would have been too costly and hard to do 12 years ago&period;<&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>The bottom line is that given how uncomfortable the original suit just appeared&comma; Warburton will certainly be getting a new one&period; As for the &&num;8220&semi;darker and edgier&&num;8221&semi; angle&comma; it sounds like they be aiming closer to the comics portraying The Tick as far more damaged than he was goofy&period; Having been a fan since the series originally aired for that brief time on Fox&comma; I&&num;8217&semi;m more than excited to see Warburton don A blue costume once again for entertaining romp over superhero tropes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;movieweb&period;com&sol;tick-live-action-tv-show-reboot-patrick-warbuton">MovieWeb<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
