PAX East: Ubisoft in, Nintendo and Sony out.

PAX East in Boston is less than a month away which means it is time for publishers and console makers to reveal what they will and will not be showing.

Yesterday, Ubisoft announced, that per usual, they will have a presence at PAX East. Ubisoft will have their games available at booths 824 and 836. Their main attraction will be the often-delayed, but much anticipated Watch Dogs. Players will get their hands on a “never-before-seen” demo. Also, they will have playable demos for their upcoming online racer, The Crew, and Trials Fusion, which is a follow-up to the very successful Trials  Evolution.

Ubisoft will also be shedding some light on some of their digital titles over at their Digital Booth. Players should be able to get hands-on time with Child of Light, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Phantoms, and The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot. Ubisoft has hinted that there might be a reveal of sorts at PAX as they plan to have another digital title in-tow with them. No word on what the game is but there should be a playable demo on the floor.

For those looking for some gaming competition, Ubisoft has brought back The Next Level. Here players will be able to compete in games such as The Crew and Trials Fusion for an “ultimate gaming package”. For those who can’t make it to PAX but want to watch the competition from afar, tune in to the NEXT Level Twitch Channel.

While Ubisoft is doubling down by showing fans lots of their games, there are also quite a bit of noticeable absences this year.  Neogaf user kyoya took the time to examine last year’s roster compared to this year and he found a rather large list of companies that will be a no show. The list includes such names as Nintendo, Sony, EA Games, Capcom, Sega, Warner Bros Interactive, Twisted Pixel and Deep Silver. It could be that these developers don’t have their games in state where they can be playable or they are holding off for E3. In recent years, it has felt that PAX East has been shoehorned in around GDC and E3. This year PAX East takes places on April 11-13 in Boston. Sidequesting.com has compiled a list of all the exhibitors that will be on the floor this year.
