Good news, everyone! Atlus has announced that Persona 4 Golden, the upgraded Vita re-release of the original, stone cold classic PS2 RPG, is coming to North America at long, long last. The set release date is November 20th and both the standard edition and the “Solid Gold Premium Edition” will be available for purchasing.
But just what is in the Solid Gold Premium Edition? Well, I’m glad you telepathically asked! The Solid Gold Premium Edition comes with a Hori face cover and hard pouch, a collection of stickers and a protective Vita skin with 8 matching wallpapers. It retails for $69.99 but you may want to hurry and get those pre-orders in, as there are only 10,000 made and, Atlus fans being what they are, they’ll probably be gone by about an hour after this story gets posted.
However, even if you’ve played the original Persona 4, Golden comes with a host of extra features! There’s more events, 1.5 times the amount of voiced dialogue (a plus for weird people like me who prefer their text scrolls to have some actual voice acting going on), a bike, a brand new intro movie, more personas and a brand new character. There’s no option to go through the story as a woman, like in the Persona 3 handheld upgrade, but still, folks! A bike! You get a bike!
Persona 4 Golden hits the PS Vita in North America on November 20th. As for us Europeans? Well; we’re used to eating sh*t when it comes to Atlus games and European release dates, so why stop now, eh?
