PES Fans, Don’t Hold Your Breath In Anticipation. Here’s Why.

If you own a VITA and were hoping to get a chance to play some Pro Evo on it this year, you are out of luck. Konami stated at a press event that they are not pushing a PES game for the Vita at this time but did mention that the PES team will look into releasing a Vita version down the road.

“There will not be a Vita version of PES this year,” Hatsumi said. “But we are not saying that we are ignoring PS Vita – that’s not the case. We have been exploring the possibility of having a PS Vita version. We keep experimenting.”

It’s clear that the team is looking to push more of the Samsung tablets and smartphone’s onto the market before they invest time and money in this project.

He then went on to mention, “Not just thinking of consoles like PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita, but looking at much wider potential users. Because of the change of lifestyle, for example users now use iPad and iPhone, they can play football games if they want to. That means we’re not just limited to console users.”

“Wider users now have potential access to video games. That’s what we want to do; we would like as many potential users as possible to play Pro Evolution Soccer.

“So we are not concentrating only on consoles. Of course we are not going to rule out Vita, but our argument is to try and provide for much wider potential users.”

So what do you think PES fans? Are you disappointed about this? Or have you left the PES franchise altogether and moved on to the likes of FIFA? Drop a comment in the comment section below.
