Peter Molyneux Reveals “22 Experiments”

<p>When Peter Molyneux&comma; creator of the <em>Fable<&sol;em> series left LionHead Studios and Microsoft in March of 2012&comma; the gaming community was surprised&period; The departure has freed Molyneux to create 22 Cans&period; Molyneux has announced that his studio will be releasing a series of 22 &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;experiments” over the next few months which will eventually culminate into a &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;final project&period;”<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>While speaking at the Imperial College London’s Games and Media Event&comma; Molyneux stated that he hoped to release the first of the experiments in &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;about six weeks&period;” He did not give any indication onto which platform&lpar;s&rpar; the experiments would land&period; In fact he didn’t say much about what shape <em>22 Experiments<&sol;em> will take beyond hints at a more general creative vision&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Our whole passion &lbrack;at 22 Cans&rsqb; is to use some of the technology which is around in the world today in a single product and a single experience&comma; in a way that no one else has used it&comma;” he said&period; &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;I am fed up to the back teeth of consuming other people’s visions – of directors’ and screenwriters’ ideas of what a hero should be&semi; of novelists writing stories that they think are good&comma; but I think are rubbish&period; Why can’t we have stories about me&quest; I want to have my own unique experiences&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He also cautions anyone reading his words to not &&num;8220&semi;take what I&&num;8217&semi;ve said too literally&period;&&num;8221&semi; Whatever <em>22 Experiments<&sol;em> is&comma; it&&num;8217&semi;s &&num;8220&semi;more subtle&&num;8221&semi; than&comma; as Molyneux describes it&comma; &&num;8220&semi;a storybook called &&num;8216&semi;whatever your name is&period;'&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;I love this one thought&comma; and I have experimented with this in previous games&comma; that you find out more about yourself while being engaged with this experience than &lbrack;you would&rsqb; with anything else&comma;&&num;8221&semi; Molyneux added&period; &&num;8220&semi;And we all love finding out about ourselves – whether it’s through personality tests&comma; or someone turning around to you and saying X&comma; Y and Z&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&lpar;Via <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;g4tv&period;com&sol;thefeed&sol;blog&sol;post&sol;724075&sol;peter-molyneuxs-first-post-microsoft-project-is-22-experiments&sol;">G4<&sol;a>&rpar;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&nbsp&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
