Silver PS4

PS4 Processing SpecsThe PlayStation 4 next-gen console processing specifications have been revealed, according to a source close to Sony. The next console will be using AMD A8-3850 APU and Readeon Graphics HD 7670 in combined chip performances. The next console will also have a blu-ray drive, DX11 capable graphics and a processor twice as fast as the PS3.

The A8-3850 is a quad-core chip clocked at 2.9GHz graphics chip. The processor APU chip will be used as a secondary boosting GPU with the HD 7670, dedicated chip is DX11 capable that will run at 1GHz using 1GB for VRAM that will provide the appropriate room to render shading properly so the console can run DX11 games smoothly.

The GPU 7670, a tweaked version of the 6670 (which is rumored of being used in the next Xbox). Both consoles will be using a DX11 chipset, which will make both consoles very comparable. The 6670 benchmark on the cry engine 3 powered game maxed out settings on 1080p resolution, giving a result of smooth 30 frames per second game play. This means the tweaked version of the 7670, which will boost the frame rate by 5-10 additional frames.

The APU will be powerful enough to support an HD playback or PSN arcade game, a asymmetrical cross-fire will also make a difference.
