The calamity that was the PSN outage crisis finally appears to be coming to a close. The online play capabilities of the PlayStation Network were restored a couple weeks ago but Sony was never concrete on when we should expect a full restore of the PlayStation Store itself.
As of two days ago the PlayStation store was still incapable of processing transactions and fulfilling purchases. But alas, after weeks of waiting for Sony to beef up their network security and rebuild their network’s hacked infrastructure the store officially opened it’s doors for business last night.
When customers log-in to the store for the first time they’ll notice a few new games but not the Welcome Back package just yet. For a quick recap Sony promised all PSN users a free “we’re sorry for sucking” package of some new and mostly old games to make-up for the protracted wait for the system to be restored. The reason for the welcome back package not being there just yet is that Sony say’s it’s still in it’s final stages of testing and should arrive soon.
Finally this saga is over. Who thinks it will be the last?
