The Pokemon company has officially deemed 2018 “The Year of Legendary Pokemon,” and they’re starting it off with a bang. For the entire month of February, you can pick up the legendary duo of Dialga and Palkia (gen 4 remakes anyone?) by grabbing a code from your local GameStop, or GAME for UK residents. As a bonus, spend $25 on Pokemon TCG products at GameStop (not GAME), and you’ll receive a free Heatran promo card.
Users of Pokemon Moon/Ultra Moon will receive Dialga, while Sun/Ultra Sun players will receive Palkia. Simply head over to the aforementioned game retailer of your country, grab your code, and then from the main menu of your game of choice, select mystery gift, and then input your code! The original Sun/Moon titles will have the Pokemon at level 60, while their Ultra variants will come at level 100, and will sport a different moveset as well. Along with this, Ultra players will also receive a Golden Bottle Bap with their legendary, which allows any Pokemon to act as if they have perfect IVs, which determines a Pokemon’s power and stats.
The “Year of Legendary Pokemon” will continue distributions to the games through November, with next month’s Pokemon also hailing from generation 4, being the legendaries Heatran and Regigigas. The year will also contain new legendary sets from Pokemon’s popular TCG series, and has promises of even more to come. Starting off the year with legendaries is great, and here’s to hoping they can cap the year off with Pokemon for Switch! A boy can dream, right?
