Pokémon Sun and Moon’s Alola Region Introduced

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be releasing on November 18th, later this year for the 3DS. Until then, The Official Pokémon Channel has released footage from the new games that highlights the region players will be exploring, as well as a look at a couple of the new Pokémon to catch. On top of this, the video above gives a glimpse at some of the new characters and tells us a little bit about them.

Solgaleo is a Psychic/Steel-type Legendary Pokémon that players will be able to get their hands on if they decide to get Pokémon Sun. Its Sunsteel Strike ability seems to be a fairly devastating attack. Meanwhile, Pokémon Moon players will get a shot at Lunala who is a Psychic/Ghost-type Legendary Pokémon with an attack called Moongeist Beam. I think both the new Legendary types look great and seem like they’d be extremely handy tools for any Pokémon Master.

As for Alola Region, the island-setting will play host to several new characters that you’ll meet along your way. Professor Kukui will be your introduction to the world of Pokémon, but then there is his assistant Lillie, who harbors some mysteries that you’ll discover as you continue your adventure. Hau will be your friend along the way (though, anyone who says “That gave me chicken skin!” is suspicious in my books). Then finally, there’s a Rotom in your Pokédex, which will allow people and Pokémon to communicate and give your Pokédex a little bit more personality.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will release on November 18th, 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
