The Pokemon Company held a press release in Tokyo, Japan today at 10 AM JST. In this release, they announced three games, including but not limited to the rumored Let’s Go! pair. Here are the facts.

Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee!

The Let’s Go games are based on the 1998 game Pokemon Yellow: Pikachu Special Edition. 20 years later, they’re remaking it, decked out with all the latest graphics and features. Pikachu and Eevee appear with the player character in the overworld, a feature many players have wanted. The new game also promises motion controls, multiplayer mode, and Pokemon Go compatibility in several ways.

In addition to overworld partner Pokemon, Let’s Go seems to be reviving another old feature: the Pokewalker. The new device is called the “Pokeball Plus”. The Pokeball Plus is a controller to play Let’s Go, as well as an accessory for Pokemon Go. However, it’s also a device to carry your favorite Pokemon with you throughout your day. The Pokemon Company tells us, “Good things may happen if you place one of your favorite Pokémon into the device and walk around with it in the real world.”

Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee! will be released for the Nintendo Switch on November 16th, 2018.

Pokemon Quest

Pokemon Quest is marketed as a “free-to-start” game for Pokefans from any generation. Kanto region Pokemon, the stars of this game, have a cute voxel makeover. They reside in a newly-discovered place called “Tumblecube Island.” Players form a team of three Pokemon, who navigate the world independently. On their way, they’ll discover and battle other, wild Pokemon. They may also make some new friends!

Players can level up and evolve their Pokemon through battles, and collect “power stones” to assist their team members. They can set up a base camp and decorate it however they please. If they’re feeling lonely, they can use the game’s system of gathering and crafting to make food, and attract other Pokemon to spend time with them.
