Former MLB pitcher, Curt Schilling has all but kissed his baseball fortune goodbye as his game development company, 38 Studios went under. Along with the company has disappeared $50 million of his own money as well as a $75 million loan from the state of Rhode Island. With the company declaring bankruptcy, Schilling is not the only one to feel the pain of the company’s demise. 38 Studios employees were left jobless and never received much of the pay they were promised for their work as, frankly, there is no money left. The collapse of 38 Studios is sad for gamers as it was a promising, young developer and even more sad for those who worked there as they are unemployed and likely much worse off from the whole ordeal.

Hopefully this news does not reflect a current downfall of the gaming industry as game sales are proving to be weaker each year. I know none of us here at BagoGames like to see a good developer and great talent go down the drain as such and hope that everyone involved can get back on their feet.
