Slightly Mad Studios have revealed a new trailer for their upcoming racing simulator Projects CARS. At the end of the trailer it is announced that the game will be launching in November 2014. Project CARS has received a lot of media attention since its unveiling as it has been funded entirely by the community and the developers. You can check out our interview with the game’s Creative Director right here. Much of the racing community have even contributed to the game’s development itself through content creation and QA testing. Slightly Mad have promised that anyone who helped them create Project CARS will receive a cut of the profits for the first 2 years after it’s release.

This plan certainly seems to have worked. From the trailer above it is clear that despite a lack of traditional funding, the game will still be able to compete with rivals such as Forza and Gran Turismo. It will also be one of the first titles to take the racing genre into the realm of virtual reality as both Ocuslus Rift and Sony’s Project Morpheus will be supported. Project CARS is set to release on Windows, SteamOS, Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One. Slightly Mad plans to keep supporting the game after launch with various DLC content such as a rally mode.
