Project CARS Won’t Rev Its Engine ‘Til May

If this year is anything like 2014, than we’re in for yet another long-line of delays. This time, it seems that Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS is up to bat, but at least we’ll be playing it this year by all accounts.

Today, Bandai Namco Games of Europe announced that the intensely-realistic racing game’s been delayed from its original April release date to a later one in mid-May.

“Despite our long heritage and pedigree in making critically-acclaimed racing games, Project CARS is by far the grandest and most intricately detailed of them all,” said Slightly Mad Studios’ Ian Bell. “Despite therefore the game being 99.9% complete, the remaining 0.1% attending to small issues and bugs has been tricky to anticipate.”

Bell continued that the studio was “absolutely dedicated to delivering a ground-breaking experience” and assured fans that the game’s “mid-May” release date would work to ensure just that.

When it does launch this spring, Project CARS will be out for Xbox One, PC, and Playstation 4 with later versions still scheduled for Wii U in the following months. In case you forgot, you can check out just how realistic Project CARS has looked so far in the video above.
