Prototype Remaster BIOHAZARD Bundle Shows Up On PS4 and Xbox One

Activision has released “Prototype Biohazard Bundle” that includes both Prototype and Prototype 2 and its DLC.

The trailer shows what appears to be a simple upscale type remaster, which basically means the game should be running at 1920×1080 (1080p) @ 60fps, although the only indication to that would be based on the video itself. There hasn’t been any information given by either the developers or publisher to indicate resolution or framerate, I will update this article if any information regarding these gets released.

I would like to point out that the base games on PS3 in Australia go for $39.95 AUD for Prototype, and $69.95 AUD for Prototype 2 “Gold Edition” (includes some DLC). This does not seem viable at all for these games, so it would be interesting to see the Australian price for this bundle.

I am unable to find the Playstation Store version and cost at this moment, but the Xbox One version states the bundle will set you back $49.99 USD.

Opinion

Okay, so this would appear to be another case of re-release a last gen game at 1080p 60fps which seems to be the go to form of development these days. I will never be a fan of this style of remastering; the only sort I will support personally would be full remakes, because that way we know that the game has been rebuilt from the ground up, or at least has a texture overhaul.

This is why there needs to be a clear cut definition for everything that claims to be a newer version of a last gen/previous game title. The lines are starting to get quite blurry right now.

What is your opinion on this Prototype and Prototype 2 bundle? Would you buy it? Let us know below.
