Although Sony somehow announced their next-generation console yesterday without even showing it, the news mill is sure to only churn out more and more news stories as we progress closer and closer to E3 later this year.
One of the more exciting stories is that Sony have decided to bundle a headset with the PlayStation 4, allowing for voice-chat with friends or whilst gaming online so that team-based matchmaking will be made simplier and the overall ‘community’ feel will be felt by all.
This may sound strange to many gamers, after all, the Xbox 360 has bundled a wired headset for many years now but it is something that Sony never considered with their PlayStation 3 console which left many games feeling empty and team-based matchmaking awkward as some gamers had headsets whilst others did not.
The press release Sony released stated:
“Combined with the Mono Headset that will be bundled with PS4, gamers will also be able to chat with friends playing online, while hearing sound effects from the controller in hand.”
Are you going to enjoy (perhaps finally, after all these years) chatting to and listening to your fellow PlayStation gamers?
