Remember Rainbow 6: Patriots? Ubisoft revealed it in 2011, but then the game just seemed to quietly back off and we haven’t heard much from it since. Last time we heard about Patriots, it was the news that it would be coming to next-gen systems.
Today, though, IGN managed to talk to Ubisoft executive director Alain Corre about Rainbow 6, to which Corre confirmed that the game is ‘still cooking.’
“It’s an important franchise for Ubisoft. We want to make sure, on this one, like all the other games we’re working on, that we bring it when we feel it’s perfect,” said Corre. “Creation is not an exact science. When we’re happy with what we see, when we think we can bring something new to gamers, then we say, ‘okay, this is a good time to release it.’
When asked if the game would still be called Rainbow 6: ‘Patriots’, Corre didn’t give a clear answer; instead saying “We can’t say yet. We’re iterating.”
