Ubisoft has finally unveiled the details of Rainbow Six Siege‘s Operation Para Bellum, after several weeks of speculation as to what the update would include. On top of the new details about the update, Ubisoft has also unveiled a gameplay trailer, showcasing some new playable characters in action. You can check out the trailer above.
New Defenders
Operation Para Bellum introduces two new defending operators, Alibi and Maestro, alongside an all-new map, Villa, set in the Italian countryside. Describing the two new defenders in a press release, Ubisoft has said that Alibi is an undercover infiltration specialist in the Italian Gruppo di Intervento Speciale. When played as in Rainbow Six Siege, she will be able to deploy a hologram. This will allow players to make it harder for enemies to find and identify them.
In contrast to that, Maestro is notable for his remote access turret. According to Ubisoft, the turret is bulletproof, capable of seeing through smoke, and able to fire low powered-laser beams. Some extra features announced for the update include:
- Deployable Bullet Proof Cameras;
- New Counter Defuser Animation;
- Dropshotting Adjustments;
- Weapon Sight Misalignment Adjustments;
- New Observation Tool Management;
- Operator Speed Adjustments;
- Echo Buff; &
- Clubhouse Map Buff.
Pick & Ban
The update also introduces the Pick & Ban system, giving players more strategy when it comes to the banning phase. Players can anticipate a thrilling twist at the last moment, when teams swap Operators for the unexpected 6th Pick. This should give players more chances of developing tactics when it comes to going head to head with other players. However, choices will have to be pretty spot-on in order to begin developing proper strategies.
The test servers for Rainbow Six Siege‘s Operation Para Bellum go live on May 22. The finished version should be live in the next few weeks. You can check out the trailer for Operation Para Bellum above.
