RAT DWS Wireless Gaming Mouse Announced

Mad Catz has made their R.A.T. series of gaming mice wireless with the R.A.T. DWS

Mad Catz RAT DWS

Mad Catz is a company that has dabbled in a lot of gaming accessories over the years. From third party controllers to gaming accessories, they are now bringing back their RAT gaming mouse brand with the RAT DWS. And this time, they cut the RAT’s tail.

The wireless RAT DWS comes equipped with the 2ms DAKOTA mechanical switch which promises high response. It also comes with several accessories and a 16k high-end sensor.

RAT DWS Features

Like its predecessors, the RAT DWS is highly customizable. It comes with a set of modular accessories, allowing you to change up how the mouse feels and functions. Adjustable palm rest and swappable pinkie rests allow you to find the one that best suits your hand and grip style. The mouse comes with 14 programmable buttons, making it easy to set up macros and hotkeys.

The DAKOTA mechanical switch is also a notable feature. Traditional mouse switches use springs that hit metallic contacts. The residual bouncing effect created by these switches can result in multiple signals. To overcome this problem, denounce delay algorithms are required.

The DAKOTA switch has a new signal detection technology, which enables an instant response to be made between the contact points. It supposedly accelerates the switch response to 2ms, 60% faster than other mechanical switches. The optical sensor offers a resolution of 16000 DPI, giving a pretty high level of accuracy.

Being wireless, it comes equipped with two wireless modes; 2.4 GHz wi-fi connection and Bluetooth 5.0. The 2.4Ghz mode gives you access to a rapid 1ms response time. In the power-efficient Bluetooth 5.0 mode, the mouse can last up to 300 hours on a single AA battery.

The RAT DWS will be shipping from early February 2021, though availability may vary by region. You can check out the Mad Catz website for more information on the mouse.
