After the great critical, albeit underselling, response for reboot of the Rayman franchise, Rayman Origins, Ubisoft has announced that the next game in the series will debut alongside Nintendo’s Wii U, set to be released later this year. As with the sequel, this chapter in the series will be a 2-D platformer. Utilizing the new controller screen, the game adds new touch capabilities in the form of a fairy that can be used to solve puzzles and help Rayman along his journey. The most exciting new addition is the inclusion of five-person online play. Whether this will be for minigames and the such or fully fleshed out co-op play has yet to be confirmed.
Rayman Legends will also be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, there will likely be more details on the game in the coming days of E3.
