Anyone interested in retro games and charity should note down September 5 and 6 in their calendar. That’s when 3D Realms are hosting their “Realms Deep” digital event. The event promises interviews with legends in the retro FPS scene, a charity drive for Child’s Play and game reveals.
Special guests for the event include John Romero (id Software, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, Empire of Sin), Tim Willits (id Software, Saber Interactive), and Cliff Bleszinski (Epic Games, Unreal, Gears Of War). Other guests include American McGee (id Software, American McGee’s Alice), Chuck Jones (3D Realms, Valve), Jon St. Jon (Voice of Duke Nukem), and Stephan Weyte (Voice of Caleb in Blood and Blood II: The Chosen).
Realms Deep will also feature world premiers from 3D Realms and 1C Entertainment. A brand new dark fantasy FPS will be announced, as well as multiple new games. However, 3D Realms aren’t the only ones with announcements. New Blood Interactive (Amid Evil, DUSK, Gloomwood, ULTRAKILL), NightDive Studios (System Shock, Doom 64, Turok remasters), Running With Scissors (Postal series) and several others are sharing news and game reveals as well.
A Packed Event For Retro FPS Fans
Realms Deep will offer news from several titles, including Core Decay, Hell Hunt, Hellbound, Hedon, Nightmare Reaper, Prodeus, The Adventures Of Square, SCP: Blackout, Limitless Hunger, Warfork, Dread X Collection, HROT, Hellscreen, Paradox Vector, Brutal Fate and a lot more.
A Kingpin celebrity deathmatch will take place as well, with Quake broadcaster Jehar commentating. And it wouldn’t be complete without Twitter legend Kino Fabino providing memes.
During each stream, viewers can donate to the Child’s Play charity. Physical merchandise will also be available during the show, and all proceeds go directly to Child’s Play.
“Realms Deep 2020 gives us the chance to highlight what we’re working on while showcasing all the badass projects our friends are cooking up. It’s been a strange year, but we want to treat this as an awesome casual hangout with our fans and friends.” – Frederik Schreiber, 3D Realms VP
