THQ Nordic has announced the release date for the remastered version of Red Faction: Guerrilla; Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered. Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction.

Earth Defense Force
Players join the movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Red Faction: Guerrilla is set to define the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.
The Re-Mars-tered edition is set to have a number of features, including:
- Open World Guerrilla Warfare: You decide who, when, where and how to battle. Utilize guerrilla tactics, improvised weaponry, and modified vehicles to lead insurgent attacks on EDF targets. Furthermore, players can launch attacks based on their own gameplay style. They can also take on missions in any order they choose.
- Strategic Destruction: Use destruction to your advantage. Players can setting ambushes to attack enemy strongholds and permanently modify the game environment. Players can leverage fully-dynamic physics-based destruction to improvise on the fly.
- Evolving & Emergent Gameplay: Carve your path through an ever changing landscape as you improvise your combat tactics. Furthermore, players can mix gameplay styles, vehicles, weapons and explosives to defeat the EDF.
The game will also feature multiplayer across all platforms. It is set to release July 3 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. PC players that own the original release on Steam will get a free upgrade. However, this won’t be true for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players. According to THQ Nordic, the game will run on Native 4K for PC players. However, the developers haven’t said if this is true for other platforms.
