It’s been sixteen long years since the Resident Evil series hit the zero mark. First shown off at the Tokyo Game Show way back in ’99, Resident Evil 0 was originally an Nintendo 64 prototype before it saw a release on Nintendo’s Gamecube in 2002.
Set before the events of the first and recently remastered Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0 follows STARS officer Rebecca Chambers and prisoner Billy Coen as they team up to survive a viral outbreak onboard the Ecliptic Express.
Courtesy of Capcom, the game’s got a new trailer showcasing just how far it’s come since its debut and what to expect from its upcoming HD remaster.
As a high-definition remake of the 2002 game, Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster will boast updated visuals, sound, widescreen support, and a new, optional control setup. RE 0 HD is due early 2016 for PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
