During Sony’s Pre-TGS conference, Capcom released a teaser trailer for their upcoming horror game, Resident Evil: Revelations 2. This was our first official confirmation that the game exists, although it was leaked on Xbox.com a few weeks ago. The teaser trailer contained no gameplay footage but we were told that the game is being developed by the same team which created the original. However, Revelations 2 is ditching Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine in favour of new characters and a new setting. The game’s first playable demo will début at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.
Thanks to the conference and the leak, it seems pretty clear that Revelations 2 is heading to Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The original game launched first on the 3DS and was also ported to the Wii U and PC. There is no word on whether the sequel will reach these other platforms.
Yet Revelations 2 isn’t the only Resident Evil title in the works for Sony’s consoles. Capcom is also developing a HD remaster of the Gamecube REmake of the original Resident Evil (if this sentence doesn’t convince you that this industry loves remakes too much, I don’t know what will). You can see the first footage of Resident Evil Remastered here. The game will have a digital only launch for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC later this year.
BagoGames will be providing extensive coverage of TGS this year so be sure to stay tuned for more information about both these projects.
