Rockshot Looks A Lot Like Devil’s Third Online

Fans of Devil’s Third Online may have a brand new game to fixate on. The developers behind the title are releasing Rockshot. It reminds many of the Devil’s Third online multiplayer component. Rockshot is being developed by Soleil Ltd, which had connections to the other game’s development.

Their close ties to Ninja Gaiden‘s development are also worth noting.

Devil’s Third Online

The game looks like a less crazy version of Devil’s Third Online. It mixes third-person shooting with melee combat. Similarities can also be taken from the trailer, which you can see above. However, the game is currently only on Steam Early Access. That being said, early player reviews have been negative.

So far, many have complained that they can’t enter online matches. Which is, you know, the whole point of a multiplayer game. Many also compared the game to Devil’s Third, for better or worse. Players can decide if the comparison is a good thing or not. Some are happy with the game being “back,” while others have said that the developers are ripping off the former game.

Either way, Rockshot is getting a lot of attention from these comparisons.

Flying Vanguard

Describing the game, the developers have said:

Cut your teeth and earn experience in many familiar game modes, while enjoying some less familiar fare involving chickens, melons and zombies in regularly rotating event game modes. Perfect your melee combos using your favorite toys from a wide range of weaponry, including katanas and ‘Flying Vanguard’ electric guitars. Or go apocalyptic and pound your enemies with surgical airstrikes to earn additional fire power, outfits and items for your team base.

You can check out Rockshot yourself. Devil’s Third released on Wii-U with its online portion shutting down last year.
