According to a rumor on The Wrap, the big M is set to reveal a tablet at a secret event in LA on June 18. This is further supported by an article from AllThingsD which stated that the new tablet will function on an adjusted form of Windows 8 called Windows RT, which employs the use of ARM microprocessors.
To add to this, website Mashable, just received an invitation to the secret event, with the invite reading: “This will be a major Microsoft announcement — you will not want to miss it.”
With Smart Glass’ reveal at E3 and Microsoft’s intention to support its growth and development, a tablet doesn’t seem completely out of the blue. It’s being reported that this tablet’s aim is to take a slice out of fellow tech giant Apple’s uh… pie and rival the iPad.
